Shilpgram is a rural art and craft village located at a distance of 3 km from Udaipur city near Hawala village. It is celebrated every year during the month of December. Shilpgram was established with the aim of promoting art and craft of Rajasthan. The state is rich in handicrafts and Shilpgram is the perfect place to see and buy different varieties of handicrafts.

Shilpgram is one of the seven centers of the West Zone Cultural Center (WZCC) established in the year 1986. Rajasthan, Maharashtra,Gujarat and Goa are its members. This program is entirely dedicated to the promotion of the art and crafts of the western region of India. Around 500 craftsmen and performing artists flock to this place to showcase their creative side in the form of art and craft and dance and music performances.

During the fair, the huge amphitheater of Shilpgram, with a capacity of 4000 people, comes alive in the evenings with brilliant cultural performances. The Shilpgram village contains representative huts from the member states. These are built with natural material—stone, mud, wood and grass. It is eco-friendly. Around 200 craft stalls are set in Shilpgram.

The fair offers fine quality handicrafts, hand woven clothes, embroidered textiles, fabrics with mirror work, camel leather items and much more. Come and explore! Several workshops are organized in the fair for the people who have inclination towards learning the making of handicrafts. Come and join the workshop to get introduced to your creative side!

Thousands of visitors from India and abroad as well throng here during the fair. The fair not only helps the artists to earn some money but is also a noble effort to give recognition to these deserving artists.
